D-Link's 802.11ax-enabled Ultra-WLAN router and more at CES 2018D-Link announced at CES 2018 the introduction of a new range of routers and security cameras. The highlight of the announcement is the Wi-Fi router DIR-2680, which provides protection for IoT devices. In addition, D-Link has introduced other products, including two mesh network systems, a few Ultra-WLAN routers, an LTE surveillance camera, and other standard wireless cameras.

Designed to protect IoT products, the DIR-2680 router uses McAfee's Global Threat Intelligence to regularly detect threats. It also includes the Intel Home Wi-Fi WAV500 series, which provides Wi-Fi connectivity for up to 128 connected devices. The router claims to provide network-level security for most IoT devices, including non-display devices.

The router provides real-time monitoring, custom parental controls, and machine learning. The DIR-2680 router will be available from the second quarter of 2018. No price information was disclosed.

Ultra-WiFi router from D-Link

Another important announcement from D-Link's DES-CES event was the presentation of the new Ultra-WLAN routers with the new 802.11ax standard. The AX6000 dual-band router supports speeds up to 6000 Mbps and the Tri-Band AX11000 supports speeds up to 11000 Mbps.

Both routers feature a 5 Gbps WAN port, four Gigabit LAN ports, a USB 3.0 port, and support for MU-MIMO and DLNA. The Ultra Wi-Fi routers will be available in the second half of 2018. The prices have not yet been announced.

Asus has also dismissed the latest dual-band router with the new 802.11ax wireless standards.

Wi-Fi systems from D-Link

The company also announced two new Wi-Fi home solutions for its COVR family of products - the 3-pack dual-band home Wi-Fi system (COVR-C1203) and the 2-pack tri-band home -Wi-Fi system (COVR-2202). The tri-band variant features AC2200 Wi-Fi and a range of 6,000 square feet. On the other hand, the dual-band variant has AC1200 Wi-Fi and offers a range of 5,000 square feet. Both Wi-Fi systems feature MU-MIMO technology, smart roaming and push notifications for firmware updates.

The 3-pack dual-band COVR-C1203 will cost $ 249.99 (approximately Rs. 15,900) and will be available in the first quarter of 2018. The 2-pack tri-band COVR-2202 will cost $ 319.99 (about 20,400 rupees) to be available in Q2 2018.



D-Link also announced some security cameras for CES 2018. The LTE Full Indoor / Outdoor Camera (DCS-1820LH) should be used in locations where a Wi-Fi connection is not available. Currently, the surveillance camera connects to the Verizon network in the US to provide wireless access in non-WiFi areas. It also offers full HD recording, two-way audio and cloud backup. The LTE camera supports Google Assistant, IFTTT and Amazon Alexa.

The surveillance camera will be available in the second quarter of 2018 for a price of $ 299.99 (approximately Rs.119,100).

Wireless full HD camera for indoor and outdoor use

With a battery life of more than 11 months, the Wireless Indoor / Outdoor Camera (DCS-2802KT) offers both cloud and local recording options to enable a connected security camera system. In addition to a 140-degree field of view, 1080p video recordings are available. The camera also supports Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and IFTTT.

This surveillance camera will be available in the second quarter of 2018 at a starting price of $ 219.99 (approximately Rs. 14,000).

Standard Wi-Fi cameras

D-Link has also announced a new line of standard Wi-Fi cameras, including an HD camera (DCS-8010LH), a Full HD Wi-Fi camera (DCS-8300LH) and a Full HD Pan and Fi camera (DCS-8525LH) at CES 2018. All cameras feature sound recognition, motion detection, and 16-foot night vision. All security features in this area are supported by Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and IFTTT. The HD Wi-Fi camera is priced at $ 59.99 (around $ 3,800), and the Full HD version is available for $ 89.99 (around $ 5,700) and the Swivel and Playbacks Tilt variant is available for $ 119.99 (approximately Rs. 7,600) from Q2 2018.
