Google says fix for Pixel 3 XL speaker distortion

Users of Pixel 3 XL report a buzzing sound, even at low volumes issues of the series Pixel 3 does not seem to end. Now, it was thought, fixes have appeared. Immediately after the start, many users announced a buzzer sound on the Pixel 3 XL. Some early users experience a certain buzzing, static or distorted sound from their speakers, even when the volume is low. This problem only seemed to apply to Pixel 3 XL users. While many users say it may be a hardware issue, a Google representative has confirmed that this phenomenon will be resolved in the coming weeks through a software update.

As we reported last month, several Pixel 3 XL users posted the upcoming issue on Reddit and Twitter. Some say that only certain notification sounds, videos, and songs create that buzzing sound, and not all the content causes that noise. Others say that the sound differs depending on the touch of the rear glass.

Although many users claim that this is a hardware issue and replacing the device is currently the most likely solution, a Google support representative has confirmed that a software update is pending. Android Police has turned to Google and the tech giant has also confirmed that a fix has been received.

Redditor u / qtpa2tnh notes that even its replaced device continues to make a buzzing sound and does some tests to find that low to mid frequencies (between 20 and 500 Hz) are particularly affected.

This issue is reminiscent of a similar speaker distortion problem that plagued Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users over the past year. For the Pixel 3 XL, some users even find that the problem disappears by itself. If you own a Pixel 3 XL, listen to these videos here and here, as they produce the distorting sound. Now that Google is aware of the problem, a fix should be released soon.

It has also recently been reported that some Pixel 3 devices are faced with flickering displays and serious overheating issues during charging. While phones warm up during charging or during video recording, some devices even shut down without warning.
